Lalai Manjikian is a Humanities professor at Vanier College in Montreal, Quebec. As an educator, researcher, community volunteer, writer, and an advocate of social justice, Lalai brings a multi-disciplinary and dynamic approach to the classroom, to social causes, to her research and writing. Her teaching and research interests are in the areas of immigration and refugee studies, media representations of migration, migrant narratives, and diaspora studies. She has long been passionate about the reasons people cross borders and how they adapt to their new realities, while remaining connected to their roots. Collecting, documenting, and analyzing migrant and refugee narratives are a significant part of her research. She also serves as a board member for the Foundation for Genocide Education.
Owen Martin is the Director and Chief Curator of Norval Foundation (Cape Town), where he has organised major exhibitions of Michael Armitage, Wim Botha, Lisa Reihana, and Ibrahim Mahama, as well as co-curated exhibitions of William Kentridge, Zanele Muholi and Yinka Shonibare, among others. Accompanying Kentridge鈥檚 exhibition, he edited a corresponding 360-page catalogue raisonn茅 of Kentridge鈥檚 sculptural practice that has been distributed by Koenig internationally. Martin serves as Trustee of the Gerard Sekoto Foundation. From 2015 to 2017 he was Registrar and Curator of Moving Image at Zeitz MOCAA (Cape Town, South Africa). Prior to that, he worked with the British Council (London, UK), Zeitz Collection (Segera, Kenya and Cape Town, South Africa), PUMA.Creative (Herzogenaurach, Germany), and the H&R Block Artspace (Kansas City, USA). Martin holds a Master of Arts in Art History from 成人VR视频 (Montreal, Canada) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in both Art History and Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute (Kansas City, USA).
Emily Raine is a writer, editor, creative project helper, and lapsed academic. She worked as a journalist while completing her MA and PhD in Communication Studies at 成人VR视频, then co-founded Cult MTL, where she was also the arts and culture editor. Emily joined Moment Factory as a creative concept writer, where she worked on experience design and scriptwriting. She currently leads a writing team and manages editorial projects for Unity, a real-time 3D engine-maker.
Tamar Tembeck is an art historian, curator and writer. Her research engages with visual cultures of illness and medicine, hospital art practices, as well as performance and media studies. She holds a PhD in Art History from 成人VR视频 and has a professional background in the performing arts and physical theatre. She is currently the artistic director of the artist-run centre OBORO in Montreal.
