Note: Applicable taxes are not included and will be applied as appropriate on the payment page at the end of the registration process (the maximum applicable tax will be 14.975% provincial/federal tax).

*Student/trainees:听 To receive the student/trainee rate, you must provide proof that you are a full-time student or have received your PhD on or after September 1, 2018 (which are the recognized trainee/postdoctoral years in the province of Qu茅bec, Canada) at the time of registration. Acceptable forms of proof include a letter on university letterhead or email from your supervisor or university registrar's office confirming your registration, copy of current university ID, an official transcript of the courses you are taking or a proof of your degree stating the year of deliverence. If you have any issues uploading your document, please contact the Conference Secretariat at EDAR7.Secretariat [at] jpdl.com.听

Confirmation

Confirmation of your registration will be sent to you by email once your registration form is completed and payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to EDAR7 Conference Secretariat at EDAR7.Secretariat [at] jpdl.com.

鈻篣ntil March 31, 2024: 100% of fees will be refunded.

鈻篎rom April 1 to May 5, 2024: a cancellation fee of $100 CAD will be applied.

鈻篎rom May 6, 2024: no refund of registration fees will be accepted.

Transfer of Registration

Registrations are transferable at no additional cost until April 30, 2024.
Requests for changes should be made in writing to the Congress Secretariat at EDAR7.Secretariat [at] jpdl.com

Failure to Obtain VISA

In the event of non-obtainment of a visa, registration fees will be reimbursed, minus an administrative fee of $100 CAD. The participant must make a written request and attach proof of non-obtainment of the visa by May 6, 2024.

No refunds will be accepted after May 6, 2024.

Visa

Do you need a Visa to travel to the EDAR7 Conference?

Visitors entering Canada will be required to present a valid passport and, in some cases, a visa. Canada has also introduced a new requirement, known as the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), for entry for some international travelers flying to Canada. All visitors must ensure that they have all the necessary documents in their possession before entering the country.

If you need a visa to enter in Canada, we strongly encourage to听start the procedure right now as processing times can be very long, up to 200 days for some countries.听Check the听 for obtaining a Canadian visa.

To obtain a Conference Invitation letter for visa applications:

1. Please register to the conference and say 鈥渊贰厂鈥 to the question 鈥淒o you need a letter of support for your visa application to come to Canada?鈥

2. Once the registration form and payment have been received and validated by the Conference Secretariat, you will then be sent听the Conference Invitation Letter as well as a special code to be used for your visa application request.

Welcome to Montreal: The Vibrant Host City of EDAR7!

Montr茅al is nestled in the heart of the province of Qu茅bec in Canada. Exuding a North American vibe with a European flair French is the official language, but English is well understood by the vast majority. The city offers various ways to get around, including (bike rental service) and with travel passes available on the bus and train.听

Montreal is known as the hub of creativity and innovation in the development of the arts, multimedia and software, and is a leader in scientific research. Getting to Montr茅al

(YUL) is located 20 minutes from downtown and is serviced by all major US carriers. Travel to Ottawa, Mont Tremblant and Eastern Townships are all within a 2-hour drive.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will find many options for getting to your hotel or the Palais des congr猫s. Car rental, limousine and taxi services are available, as is the 24-hour 747 Express bus. This option will cost you $10 and will drop you off at one of nine downtown stops in about 40-60 minutes. Taxis from the airport to the city center offer a flat rate of $41 (this does not include tip).

Montr茅al鈥檚 Central Station is located in the heart of the city. Connected to many Canadian and American cities, the station offers direct access to the underground pedestrian network as well as to the Bonaventure metro station and other public transportation such as buses and taxis.

Bus travelers will arrive directly downtown at Montr茅al鈥檚 central bus station, with access to the Berri-UQAM metro station (and from there to the underground pedestrian network) as well as to city buses and taxis.

The island of Montr茅al is 75 kilometres (46 miles) from the US border and the Trans-Canada Highway runs through the city.
Traveler鈥檚 Tip: Canada uses the metric system so the speed limit is indicated in kilometres per hour (km/h) and gasoline is sold by the litre (L). It is also important to mention that Montr茅al is located in a French-speaking province, so most road signs are in French.
It is also strictly forbidden to turn right at a red light on the island of Montr茅al or to use a mobile phone while driving.

Additional Information

Insurance

It is important that you contact your insurance company before you leave to ensure that you have adequate medical coverage while in Montr茅al. If you are not covered by provincial health insurance, you will have to pay for medical services either through private insurance or out of pocket.

Currency

The legal currency is the Canadian dollar (CA$). Banknotes are CA$5, CA$10, CAD$20, CAD$50 and CA$100. Coins are 5, 10 and 25 cents, as well as 1 and 2 dollars. Bank and credit cards are also accepted almost everywhere.

Tips

It is generally customary to tip restaurant waiters and taxi drivers 10% to 20% of the bill, before taxes. Grooms in hotels are usually given CA$2 per suitcase.

Taxes

The applicable tax is the provincial harmonized sales tax (HST) of 5%. A municipal accommodation tax of 4% also applies to your hotel reservations.

As Montr茅al gets warmer during May, the average temperature is 14 degrees Celsius ranging from a minimum of 8 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 19 degrees Celsius.
