Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada Students for Development Award

Mark McEwan Mark McEwan, U2, Majors Economics & Political Science, Minor in langue et litt茅rature fran莽aise: Mark interned at the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD) in Accra this summer. CDD is a non-partisan NGO that promotes good governance, and liberal economic reform through research, advocacy, and consultancy services. Mark is a member of the executive of the Economics Students' Association, and is a member of the Dean's Honour List. He hoped his experience at CDD would help prepare him for future studies in public policy and law. Click here to read his internship report.


Allan A. Hodgson Arts Internship Award

anthony_buccitelli Anthony Buccitelli, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor African Studies: Anthony interned at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) in Accra, Ghana, an organization which defends human rights and promotes good governance. Anthony has worked as a project coordinator for a pre-employability program in association with Emploi Quebec, at the NDG Food Depot and is a member of the Golden Key Honours Society. His internship enabled him to grasp a broader understanding of the state of human rights in Sub-Saharan Africa, which is consistent with his desire to pursue graduate studies in this area. Kefyalew_Gemeda Kefyalew Gemeda, U2, Double Major International Development Studies and Economics, Minor Environment: Kefyalew interned at Working to Empower/Save听Our Community, in Kampala, Uganda, a non-profit and non-governmental听organization that works to empower sustainable, community based change by focusing on HIV/AIDS education.听Kefyalew is also involved in different clubs around campus, such as WUSC 成人VR视频 and UNICEF 成人VR视频. Anderson Family Arts Internship Award

Katy_Hintzen Katy Hintzen, U2, Major History, Double Minor Hispanic Languages and International Development Studies: Katy interned at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) in Galeta, Panama. STRI is dedicated to fostering greater public appreciation of essential coastal habitats and promoting their conservation. Katy鈥檚 extensive experience with environmental education and conservation projects ranges from planting trees in Guanajuato, Mexico to raising funds for solar panel instillations in Chicago public schools. She also enjoys volunteering with a variety of immigrant and refugee organizations in Chicago and Santropol Roulant in Montreal. Katy is particularly fascinated by environmental history and issues of sustainable development and further explored these topics in her work with STRI. Click here to read her internship report.

Laura_Filliatrault Laura Filiatrault, U2, Major International Development Studies, Double Minor Political Science and Education for Arts Students: Laura interned at the Association for India鈥檚 Development (AID) in Tamil Nadu, India. AID is a grassroots organization with a commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and quality. Laura has extensive experience in social justice awareness and youth education outreach programs, notably in an alternative education program in Thailand. Mariel_Harding Mariel Harding, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Social Studies of Medicine: Mariel interned in Panama City with the Instituto Conmemorativo Gorgas de Estudios en Salud, a health research institute. She conducted research on Dengue Fever among the Kuna of Panama City. At 成人VR视频, she has worked at 成人VR视频鈥檚 Center for Developing Areas Studies, and helped found a club to support a small orphanage in India. Mariel鈥檚 internship gave her the rare opportunity to conduct research as an undergraduate in her field of interest 鈥 health 鈥 and her experience helped guide her in her decisions regarding further education. Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund (AUIF) Internship Awards

Sarah Flatto Sarah Flatto, U2, Double Major Political Science and English Cultural Studies: Sarah interned at Never Again Rwanda, an organization that works to enhance youths鈥 capacity to analyze the root causes of past conflicts and to create ideas and action among peers supporting sustainable peace. A published writer, Sarah is currently a leader in initiatives such as Jr. Peacemakers, the 成人VR视频 Social Equity and Diversity Education Office, End Poverty Now, and the Model United Nations. Through this internship, Sarah maintained her commitment to cross-cultural empathy, freedom of expression, and pragmatic conflict resolution. She observed and evaluated empirical manifestations of peace-building, particularly through educational approaches in a post-conflict society. Click here to read her internship report.

Nick_Tosh Nicholas Tosh, U2, Major Philosophy, Double Minor Political Science and Sociology, Nicholas interned at the Association for India鈥檚 Development (AID) India in Chennai, India, an organization that promotes sustainable, equitable and just development in India, with a focus on education. Nicholas has been involved in organizations on campus, such as Best Buddies. He also has done significant work with children in New York City who were directly affected by the tragedy of September 11, 2001. His experience at AID India exposed him to education infrastructure in a developing country. This internship will prove invaluable in his pursuit of a graduate degree in social policy. Kieth_Esch Keith Esch, U2, Major International Development, Minor Political Science:听 Keith internd with the HOPE International Development Agency in the Dominican Republic.听 HOPE works听closely with Dominican partners on development assistance听in the rural province of San Jose de Ocoa.听 The 2008 MVP of 成人VR视频 Track and Field team. Keith is a dedicated student-athlete with a special concern for听and interest in the Dominican Republic where he studied for a semester in Fall 2007.听 His experience with HOPE helped further his understanding of the struggles of the poor in developing countries and gave him first hand knowledge of non-governmental organizations and standard practices in the world of international development. Neha_Kallianpurkar Neha Kallianpurkar, U2, Double Major Political Science and Economics, Minor Philosophy: Neha interned at Comisi贸n Diocesana de Justicia y Paz (CODIJUP) in Oaxaca City, an organization that provides legal assistance to the Oaxaca community. Neha has been involved in organizations both on and off campus. She has worked on the Journal for Middle East Studies at 成人VR视频 and in a New Jersey-based law firm. Her experience at CODIJUP exposed her to the nature of litigation in Mexico, which will prove invaluable to her in her pursuit of a law degree with an interest in international law. Jenna_Simpson Jenna Simpson, U2, Major International Development Studies, Minor Hispanic Languages: Jenna interned with the Centre of Investigation and Legal Assessment of Human Rights (IALDI) in Lima, Peru. This organization works to strengthen the democratic system, the state of law in Peru and international human rights. Jenna is involved on campus with Community Outreach for Immigrants and a number of recreational sports teams. Her experience with IALDI exposed her to legal processes in developing countries and prepared her for a future in international law.听 Click to read her internship report.

Aviva_Stahl Aviva Stahl, U2, Double Major Sociology and International Development Studies:听 Aviva interned at the Social Justice Committee, a Montreal-based organization which uses popular education to address issues of poverty and human rights.听 At 成人VR视频, Aviva has been very involved in on-campus organizations, especially Queer 成人VR视频 and the 成人VR视频 Anti Racist Coalition.听 Her internship at the Social Justice Committee allowed her to learn more about using popular education to tackle social justice issues in communities of privilege. Shannon_Raison Shannon Raison, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Environment:听Shannon interned with Project GreenHands at听the Isha Foundation in Tamil Nadu, India, a project which aims to counteract the environmental degradation caused by deforestation in the region. Shannon has been involved with organizations on campus such as the International Development Studies Students鈥 Association and 成人VR视频 Students with Buduburam Youth, and has also had international experience working in the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana. Her experience with the Isha Foundation allowed her to explore her academic interests in the fields of International Development and Environment and provided her with invaluable working听experience in these fields. Rodrigo_Quintana Rodrigo Quintana, U3, Honours International Development Studies, Major Economics: Rodrigo interned at the United Nations World Food Programme (UN WFP) in Panama City, an international organization which addresses food security issues around the globe. Rodrigo has been involved in development work in his home country of Nicaragua at a national level when he worked for the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) during the summer 2007. He also worked at the community level with a social work organization. With his experience at the UN WFP and IADB, Rodrigo built on his lessons and used them in the labor market, and eventually will take a step further to pursue an MSc in Economic Development. Kimberlee_Desormeaux Kimberlee Desormeaux, U2, Major International Development Studies, Minor Political Science: Kimberlee interned at Fundaci贸n Ideas in Argentina. This organization provides human, material, and technological resources to empower local communities. Kimberlee is currently a campaign leader for the 成人VR视频 chapter of Oxfam and regularly organizes outreach activities on campus. During her internship, Kimberlee experienced working with an non-governmental organization in a developing country and learned various strategies to increase citizen participation. This internship provided her with the ideal combination of politics and international development, a combination she wishes to pursue at the graduate level. Click here to read her internship report.

Allison_McNeely Allison McNeely, U2, Honours Political Science, Minor Economics: Allison interned with FairVote in Washington D.C. as a Communications and Press intern. FairVote advocates for American electoral reform, conducts voting and democracy research, and spearheads community outreach programs. Allison is involved in the International Relations Students鈥 Association of 成人VR视频 (IRSAM). She has been a member of the Secondary Schools鈥 United Nations Symposium secretariat for the past two years, and was a Chair at the 成人VR视频 Model United Nations Assembly. Allison鈥檚 experience at FairVote allowed her to pursue her interest in American politics and gain experience relevant to her degree. Click here to read her internship report.

Abhi Abhimanyu Sethi, U3, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Economics: Abhi interned at two East African health-care institutions. He first worked for two months at Liverpool VCT, Care and Treatment which helps formulate HIV/AIDS-related policies in Kenya with the aim of providing prevention, care and treatment services to those at risk of infection or infected by HIV. Abhi then spent one month working in Kibale National Park (Uganda) in association with the Makerere University Biological Field Station. While there, Abhi conducted a community health survey in two villages bordering Kibale National Park, focusing on water-borne diseases, sanitation-related illnesses, child malnutrition, and malaria. Catherine_Binet Catherine Binet, U2, Major International Development Studies, Minor Hispanic Languages: Catherine interned at EDUCA in Mexico, an organization which promotes community development and social organization to improve the quality of life and strengthen democracy in poor and indigenous communities. Catherine is an accomplished student and is a member of the Golden Key Honours Society. She spent several years living and traveling abroad, and her experience in multicultural settings was an asset to her internship. Catherine aspires to a career in international development. Anais_Cadieux_Van_Vliet Anais Cadieux Van Vliet, U2, Double Major International Development Studies and Psychology: Anais interned with Women鈥檚 Initiative for Self-Empowerment (W.I.S.E) in Accra, Ghana. This organization focuses on supporting marginalized women primarily through education, micro-credit and counseling initiatives. Anais is committed to community development and has honored this commitment as a member of the executive of the International Development Studies Students Association, and as an active volunteer helping to organize conferences on international development issues at 成人VR视频. Her experience at W.I.S.E enabled her to combine her passion for development and psychology and provided her with an invaluable learning experience. Anais hopes to pursue a career in the rehabilitation of ex-child soldiers.


Dean of Arts Development Fund Internship Awards

Natalie_Fong Natalie Fong, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor East Asian Language and Literature: Natalie interned at Festival Acc猫s Asie in Montreal, an organization promoting Asian arts and cultures through festivals highlighting various artistic disciplines during the Annual Asian Heritage Month in Canada. Natalie has lived in Asia and North America and her extensive travel experience has strengthened her interest in cultural diversity. Her volunteer experiences in the Montreal Asian community and on campus were assets for her internship with Acc猫s Asie. Natalie plans to pursue a career in Asian development. Isabelle_Marcianak Isabel Marciniak, U2, Major International Development Studies, Minor Psychology: Isabel interned at the Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee (IPACC) in Cape Town, South Africa. IPACC is an non-governmental organization that coordinates indigenous peoples鈥 organizations in Africa to promote indigenous rights and recognition. Isabel has worked in Botswana in HIV prevention education, and is involved in volunteer activities at 成人VR视频 and around Montreal. The experience gained at IPACC was very valuable to Isabel, both in her future graduate work and eventual career in international development. Click here to read her internship report.

Dorota_Lech Dorota M. Lech, MA2, Political Science and Gender Studies:听 Dorota interned at the Immigrant Workers Center in Montreal, an organization that fights for听the labour rights of immigrants living and working in Quebec.听 Dorota coordinated various interest groups, networked, researched policy and practice, and lobbied the Health and Safety Prevention and Compensation Commission of Quebec to extend legislation to domestic workers. She also worked with immigrant women textile workers to understand their rights in collective dismissal.听 Her experience contributed to her understanding of gender relations and migration issues and will contribute to her graduate research. Roshaya_Rodness Roshaya Rodness, U2, Major English Cultural Studies, Minor Communications Studies: Roshaya interned at Shoreline Press in Montreal, a small independent press that is committed to publishing new and local authors in a variety of genres. Roshaya is an active member of 成人VR视频鈥檚 student writing club and has been published in the Claremont Review. Her work at Shoreline was an invaluable experience in editing and production and will have helped prepare her for graduate work in cultural theory and disability. Alison_Mackay Alison Mackay, U2, Major Psychology, Double Minor Behavioural Science and Langue et Litt茅rature Fran莽aises: Alison interned at the Centre for AIDS Services of Montr茅al (CASM). She interviewed HIV positive women on their hopes for a full life after diagnosis and compiled their stories into a pamphlet for both recently diagnosed women and the general public. Over the years, Alison has volunteered with community organizations like Entraide B茅n茅vole Metro and the Youth Access Council. Yifei_He Yifei He, U2, Major Economics, Double Minor History and East Asian Language and Literature: Yifei interned at VGKK-Karuna Turst. Located in Karnataka Province, India, it is an organization dedicated to the pursuit of social reform. By aiding marginalized minorities to achieve self-sufficiency, VGKK hopes to make lasting impressions upon the global community. Yifei is an accomplished scholar and athlete. He is an avid explorer and possesses a keen interest in other cultures. This internship complemented his goals and made lasting contributions to his personal and professional development. Monica_Narula Monica Narula, U2, Major Political Science, Double Minor International Development Studies and English Cultural Studies: Monica interned at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs (COHA) in Washington, DC. COHA is a nonprofit research and information organization whose mandate is to promote the common interests of the hemisphere, raise the visibility of regional affairs, increase the importance of the inter-American relationship, and encourage the formulation of rational and constructive U.S. policies towards Latin America. Sarah_Golightley Sarah Golightley, U3, Major Sociology, Double Minor Psychology and Sexual Diversity Studies: Sarah鈥檚 internship was at the St-James Drop-In Centre in downtown Montreal. The Centre provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere and assistance for people experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance abuse problems or who have learning difficulties. Sarah has been an active part of the campus community, volunteering for the Union for Gender Empowerment as well as other student organizations. She hoped her time spent at St-James would allow her to gain an increased understanding of marginalized members of our community. Click here to read her internship report.

Jospeh_Penney Joseph Penney, U2, Major International Development Studies, Minor African Studies: Joseph interned at the Children鈥檚 International Summer Village (CISV) C么te d鈥橧voire. CISV C么te d鈥橧voire works to promote peace among the sixty different ethnic groups in the country which have experienced significant tensions in recent years. Joseph鈥檚 experience volunteering at Buduburam Liberian Refugee Camp outside Accra, Ghana and his extensive interest in African politics assisted him in his position. Shamron_Spence Shamron Spence, U3, Major International Development Studies, Minor Women鈥檚 Studies: Shamron interned with the Navti Foundation in Kumbo, Cameroon. This grassroots organization is working to establish sustainable development in the North West of the country by fighting against poverty for the underprivileged in the community, with a particular focus on women, the disabled and orphaned children. Shamron is involved in her community through volunteer work with the Girl Guides. Her experience with the Navti Foundation as an HIV/AIDS educator helped her gain practical experience in the field of international development. Click here to read her internship report.

Joshua_Frank Joshua Frank, U2, Major East Asian Studies, Minor English Literature: Joshua interned with Immersion Guides in Beijing, China, working on their yearly-updated Insider鈥檚 Guide to Beijing. The Guide focuses on the contemporary scene in China鈥檚 capital, from food and little-known hiking spots to underground art and music. Joshua has written for the 成人VR视频 Daily for the past two years, and assumed the role of Culture Editor in Fall 2009. He is also a member of the Golden Key Honours Society. His experience with Immersion Guides provided a taste of working in the field of journalism in a way that relates to his Honours degree in East Asian Studies, and offered insight into his thesis work and potential career options. Jenyfer_Maisoneuve Jenyfer Maisonneuve, U3, Double Major Political Science and International Development Studies: Jenyfer interned at the Dianova Center of Education in Jinotepe (Nicaragua), an organization that, as part of a program associated to a hotel in Managua, provides primary and secondary education to poor children of the region. Jenyfer has also been involved in her community with the non-governmental organization Dianova at its Montreal office and has organized awareness campaigns in Montreal with the Canadian Student Fair Trade Network. During her internship she implemented a Peace and Environmental project called 鈥淐hildren for Peace鈥 to help develop children鈥檚 consciousness about their environment. This internship gave Jenyfer the opportunity to strengthen her comprehension of sustainable development projects and discover the conditions of life in Latin America. Sara_Maranda_Gauvin Sara Maranda-Gauvin, U2, Major International Development Studies, Double Minor Cultural Studies and Anthropology: Sara interned with Equitas in Montreal, an NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights through education, in Canada and around the world. Sara completed an internship in the summer of 2007 with Club 2/3 in Lima, Peru working with community cooperatives. She has previously been involved in international development projects in Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Her experience with Equitas contributed to her knowledge of international human rights. Hon. Paul Charles Casey Internship Award

Pinar_Hoscafi Pinar Hosafci, U3, Honours Economics, Double Minor Math and International Development Studies: Pinar interned at the International Labour Office (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland. ILO听is the听tripartite UN agency听that brings together governments, employers and workers of its member states in common action to promote decent and productive work throughout the world. Pinar听will assisted the Employment Trends team with research, data analysis and the preparation of the Youth Employment Trends publication, which is to come out in early August. She believes that increased labour force participation of women and youth听is a welcome and important contribution to economic development. Having prior experience with research and being motivated by the interactions of labour and development economics, Pinar wants to听employ the skills she gained through this experience towards a graduate degree in labour economics. Maureen_Williams Maureen Williams, U2, Joint Honours Geography and International Development Studies, Minor Hispanic Languages: Maureen interned with a Panamanian government agency, Secretaria Nacional de Coordinaci贸n y Seguimiento del Plan Alimentario Nacional, and worked on a project to map the levels of nutrition and food security in Panama. Maureen is in the top 10% of her faculty and a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. When she鈥檚 not studying, you can find her training in Capoeira Angola, Brazilian martial arts. Lev Bukhman Internship Award

Mary_Roberts Mary Roberts, U3, Joint Honours History and International Development Studies, Minor Economics: Mary interned at Autoridad de la Micro, Peque帽a y Mediana Empresa (AMPYME) in Panama City. AMYPME is a Panamanian governmental organization that encourages the development of micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses in order to fight moderate and extreme poverty. Mary's extensive travel experience, academic excellence, past involvement in social justice causes and organizations, aptitude for languages and passion for international development proved to be assets for her internship. Mariana_Perez_Leseque Mariana Perez-Levesque, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Political Science: Mariana interned at the Canadian consulate in Guadalajara, Mexico, a governmental organization which assists Canadian enterprises who have selected Mexico as a target market for their products, services or technologies. Mariana鈥檚 familiarity with Mexican culture was an asset during her internship. While in Mexico, Mariana also conducted research for a paper that explored Canada鈥檚 trade relations with Mexico subsequent to the 1994 NAFTA agreement. Click here to read her internship report.


MacKinnon Initiative Awards for Student Internships

Chris_Columb Christopher Columb, U3, BCom, Desautels Faculty of Management, Finance and Strategic Management: Christopher interned at ProPeru Service Corps, a non-profit organization that promotes social and economic development in Cusco, Peru. Christopher has been heavily involved in organisations around campus, such as the 成人VR视频 Investment Club and Jr. Peacemakers. He is also a member of the Golden Key Honours Society and is Director of Operations as well as a Fellow at Pearson House, a non-partisan student-run think tank. His experience at ProPeru exposed him to micro-business development, with particular emphasis on agro and ecotourism. Valerie_Lippman Valerie Lippman, U2, BA, Faculty of Arts, Major Women's Studies, Double Minor International Development Studies and Langue et Litt茅rature Fran莽aises: Valerie interned at VGKK-Karuna Trust in B.R. Hills, Karnataka, India. VGKK's mission is to cultivate sustainable tribal development through a rights-based approach, and Valerie took part in this by choosing a project based on her experiences and interests. She is a founding member of the Women's Studies Students' Association, and volunteers for 成人VR视频 Health's Shag Shop. These experiences helped make her internship with VGKK a meaningful and effective one, with women's health and sustainability at the forefront of her project.


Roland Arts Summer Internship Award

Severine_Koen S茅verine Koen, U2 Joint Honours Political Science and International Development Studies: S茅verine interned at the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) in Accra, Ghana. CHRAJ's mission is to promote and protect听human rights, as well as to enhance听democracy and good governance.听S茅verine has had a highly multicultural upbringing,听traveling widely. Last year, she听volunteered听for one month听in Kenya with the Kenyan听Voluntary Development Association.听 S茅verine has also been听involved听in many campus organizations, such as the 成人VR视频 Students for Literacy club, the International Relations Students Association, and in various theatre projects.听She hopes to further her interest in development policy through her internship at CHRAJ and to pursue a career in diplomacy. Nikki_Bozinoff Nikki Bozinoff, U2, Double Major International Development Studies and Biology: Nikki interned with the BBC World Service Trust鈥檚 Ethiopia office, and conducted program content research for their two sexual and reproductive health radio programs. Nikki has been actively involved with the 成人VR视频 Daily as well as the 成人VR视频 Global AIDS Coalition. Laurence_Deschamaps_Leger Laurence Deschamps-L茅ger, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Hispanic Languages: Laurence interned with Equitas in Montreal, an NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights through education, in Canada and around the world. Laurence has been volunteering in various activities of Oxfam-Qu茅bec for the past two years and has cooperated with the city of Montreal on environmental and property projects. Her passion for traveling has brought her to Colombia to improve her competence in Spanish and to Morocco to complete research on the Berbers鈥 situation. Juniper_Belshaw Juniper Belshaw, U3, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Environment: Juniper interned at Project GreenHands in Tamil Nadu, India, an environmental organization that aims to increase the green cover of the state of Tamil Nadu through various community-based tree planting initiatives. Juniper is an active member of the 成人VR视频 community, and is involved with the Financial Ethics Research Committee of the Students鈥 Society of 成人VR视频 and Community Outreach for Immigrants, a student-run organization that aims to improve cross-cultural communication between 成人VR视频 students and members of the Montreal immigrant and refugee communities. Tania Zouikin Arts Internship Awards in International Development

Renee_Carter Renee Carter, U2, Social Work: Renee interned at the International Center for Migration and Health (ICMH) in Geneva, Switzerland. The ICMH focuses on research and policy pertaining to migration鈥檚 impact on international public health and operates on the basis that all people have the right to quality medical services. Renee has spent the last year working in a community organization advocating for refugee rights in Canada. She is also a member of the Golden Key Honours Society. Lauren_Walshe_Rousel Lauren Walshe-Roussel, U2, Honours International Development Studies, Minor Sociology: As a delegate for Plan Nagua, a Quebec City based non-governmental organization, Lauren spent her summer interning at Asociaci贸n Probienestar la Gamba (ASOPROBI) in Costa Rica. Based in a small rural community, ASOPROBI fosters sustainable community development, education and empowerment. An accomplished student with extensive volunteer experience, Lauren looked forward to supporting grassroots initiatives and sharing knowledge. Believing that equitable cooperation contributes to the success of locally defined development, Lauren saw this internship as a means to be an agent working towards these goals. Thomas_Pavenel Jamie Thomas-Pavanel, U2, Double Major International Development Studies and World Religions, Minor Sociology: Jamie interned at Women鈥檚 Initiative for Self Empowerment (W.I.S.E.) in Accra, Ghana, an organization that advocates for women鈥檚 rights and empowerment and offers counseling and other psychosocial support services to abused women and children. Jamie has been involved in the 成人VR视频 community through organizations such as End Poverty Now and the Caribbean Students鈥 Society of 成人VR视频. She is also a Canadian Merit scholar and a volunteer for Frontier College, working closely with Tyndale Community Center. Her experience at WISE exposed her to various endeavors which help transform the marginal position of women and address issues females face in the developing world, an aspect of development for which she has an immense passion. Sarah_Pike Sarah Almond Pike, U2, Double Major International Development Studies and Women鈥檚 Studies, Minor Langue et Litt茅rature Fran莽aises: Sarah interned this summer with the Indigenous People鈥檚 of Africa Coordinating Committee (IPACC) in Cape Town, South Africa, an organization that works to unite diverse indigenous peoples' organizations into a network for advocacy. Sarah has been involved in campus life through the Environmental Residence Council and 成人VR视频 Students for Literacy. She has also volunteered her time off campus, working on the Montreal Sexual Assault Helpline and as an English tutor during a semester abroad in Singapore. Her internship with IPACC exposed her to the grassroots level of legal reform which will serve her well in her pursuit of a law degree. Click here to read her internship report.
