Supporting Inter-University Research Collaborations

In partnership with the Hong Kong-based WYNG foundation, the Faculty of Education at 成人VR视频 and Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) recently participated in another successful Visiting Scholars Exchange Program. For the first part of the exchange, the Faculty of Education warmly welcomed Assistant Professor聽Dr. Kei Yan Poon, from the Department of Special Education and Counselling, and Associate Professor聽Dr. Ian Bun Chun Lam from the Department of Early Childhood Education.

Dr.聽 Poon聽worked closely with Dr. Steven Shaw, Associate Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. She presented her research findings at graduate seminars, engaged in instrumental and informative conversations with graduate students and various faculty members, and worked collaboratively with Dr. Shaw on possible future research opportunities in the areas of executive functions and educational psychology.

A few weeks later, the faculty welcomed Dr. Lam, who was partnered with Dr. Chiaki Konishi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. 聽During his stay, Dr. Lam presented several talks on child adjustment, specifically pertaining to socioemotional well-being, to faculty and students, met individually with grad students and faculty members and worked closely with Dr. Konishi on future research opportunities.

In the month of March 2018, both Dr. Konishi and Dr. Shaw will travel to Hong Kong in March 2018 to spend another week collaborating and working with Dr. Lam and Dr. Poon. We are looking forward to yet another fruitful week for our exchange scholars and increasing the research partnerships between our Faculty of Education and the Education University of Hong Kong.

This is the second year that the exchange has taken place. The first exchange resulted in positive research collaborations between Dr. Tara Flanagan and Dr. Suzanna Yeung in the area of Inclusive Education and between Dr. Robert Savage and Dr. Vicky Tsang in the area of literacy (click here for more information).聽
