Published: 17 August 2010

Professor , BCL'94, LLB'94, has received the 2010 Bora Laskin National Fellowship in Human Rights to pursue research in contemporary labour law.听 Her project will consist of a comparative and international analysis of regulating paid domestic work, drawing on theories of legal pluralism in relation to labour market informality.

As Blackett explains, "The hypothesis of this research is that, for domestic work to be recognized as decent work, it must be regulated both and at once as work like any other and as work like no other."

The prestigious Bora Laskin National Fellowship in Human Rights is awarded by SSHRC to leading scholars to support multidisciplinary research in the field of human rights.听 It is named for the Hon. Bora Laskin, PC, CC, FRSC (1912 - 1984), a Canadian jurist specialized in labour law and constitutional law who served on the Supreme Court of Canada for fourteen years, including a decade as its Chief Justice.
