Bensadoun, Laliberte inducted into Business Hall
Two well-known Montreal business leaders figure in the Canadian Business Hall of Fame's 33rd. Class of Inductees. They are Aldo Bensadoun, BCom'64, founder and CEO of national and international shoe retailer Aldo Group Inc., and Guy Laliberte, founder and head of the Cirque du Soleil, Quebec's best-known cultural export. These business leaders, along with Seymour Schulich, MBA'65, president of Nevada Capital Corp. Ltd., Toronto, and W. Galen Weston, chairman and president of George Weston Ltd., Toronto, are being recognized for their business excellence and honoured for their outstanding professional achievements and enduring contributions to Canadian society. The gala dinner and induction ceremony is being held in Toronto on May 3 next. "" This is the highest honour in Canadian business and all the 2011 inductees are deserving recipients", said Ross Maund, president of Junior Achievement of Canada Foundation. "As Companions, these individuals become mentors and role models for Junior Achievement youth and Canada's future business leaders." The Canadian Business Hall of Fame was established by Junior Achievement of Canada in 1979. Companions are nominated by their peers and chosen by an independent selection committee representing Canada's foremost business, academic and media institutions.
