Caroline Ferland, BCL/LLB’95, elected president of the Board of the Centre d’accès à l’information juridique

Caroline Ferland, BCL/LLB’95, was recently elected president of the Board of the Centre d’accès à l’information juridique (CAIJ). She succeeds Martin F. Sheehan, BCL/LLB’90.

Ms Ferland is General Counsel, Corporate, at Imperial Tobacco Canada Ltd. Previously, she was president of the Young Bar Association of Montreal in 2001-2002 and a committee member of the administrative committee of the Quebec Bar in 2002-2003. She was also a a member of the General Council of the Quebec Bar and of the Montreal Bar from 2002 to 2005. She had been an administrator of the CAIJ since November 2004 and was its secretary since June 2006. Ms Ferland is also secretary of the Marie-Vincent Foundation for children.

The CAIJ’s mission is to ensure that all members of the Quebec Bar and judiciary have full and complete access to legal information, no matter where practioners are located.
