Cutting-edge medical research is on the curriculum at JGH Mini-Med School 2010
Learn about today's lab-bench discoveries that will be tomorrow's treatments
Do you ever get the impression that new medical discoveries are constantly being announced, but never seem to make it to the clinic? The truth is that cutting-edge research is constantly moving from lab-bench to bedside, especially at the Jewish General Hospital. And JGH Mini-Med School 2010 will teach you exactly how.
Join the hundreds of "mock-tors" who have attended the JGH Mini-Med School and "graduated" with a deeper knowledge and understanding of health matters. The 2010 "spring semester" promises to be as entertaining as ever, with its enlightening theme, Medical Research.
The JGH, together with its program sponsor TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and partner, 92.5 The Q invite Montrealers to sharpen their pencils for three sessions of straight talk in non-technical language about the latest developments in psychology/neuroscience, evolutionary theory and medicine, and environmental toxicology.
The 2010 JGH Mini-Med School series will take place at the hospital Wednesday evenings from May 26 to June 9.
"The Jewish General Hospital is one of the most research-intensive hospitals in Quebec, if not all of Canada," says Glenn J. Nashen, JGH Director of Public Affairs and Communications and Program Director of the JGH Mini-Med School. "At the JGH Mini-Med School, the public have the opportunity to learn from leading experts all about the latest research advances made at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, and how these fantastic developments will have a direct impact on their health. The JGH, TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and 92.5 The Q share a commitment to reaching out to the community through public education programs."

About Mini-Med School
The concept of the Mini-Med School was developed by Dr J. John
Cohen, who originated the program at the University of Colorado in
1989. Dr. Cohen's father was the first Executive Director of the
Jewish General Hospital, Samuel S. Cohen. There are now more than
85 Mini-Med Schools around the world, with the first Canadian
Mini-Med School launched at 成人VR视频 in 2001, followed
soon thereafter at
the JGH, in 2003. All of the lectures in this series are designed
to give you a better understanding of modern medicine and the way
it affects your own health and your future.
