Cutting-edge medical research is on the curriculum at JGH Mini-Med School 2010

The truth is that cutting-edge research is constantly moving from lab-bench to bedside, especially at the Jewish General Hospital. And JGH Mini-Med School 2010 will teach you exactly how.

Join the hundreds of "mock-tors" who have attended the JGH Mini-Med School and "graduated" with a deeper knowledge and understanding of health matters. The 2010 "spring semester" promises to be as entertaining as ever, with its enlightening theme, Medical Research.

The JGH, together with its program sponsor TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and partner, 92.5 The Q invite Montrealers to sharpen their pencils for three sessions of straight talk in non-technical language about the latest developments in psychology/neuroscience, evolutionary theory and medicine, and environmental toxicology.

The 2010 JGH Mini-Med School series will take place at the hospital Wednesday evenings from May 26 to June 9.

"The Jewish General Hospital is one of the most research-intensive hospitals in Quebec, if not all of Canada," says Glenn J. Nashen, JGH Director of Public Affairs and Communications and Program Director of the JGH Mini-Med School. "At the JGH Mini-Med School, the public have the opportunity to learn from leading experts all about the latest research advances made at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, and how these fantastic developments will have a direct impact on their health. The JGH, TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and 92.5 The Q share a commitment to reaching out to the community through public education programs."

When: Every Wednesday from May 26 - June 9, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.

The fee is $40 for adults and $25 for students (with valid student ID) and seniors (60 and over) for all three sessions.

About Mini-Med School
The concept of the Mini-Med School was developed by Dr J. John Cohen, who originated the program at the University of Colorado in 1989. Dr. Cohen's father was the first Executive Director of the Jewish General Hospital, Samuel S. Cohen.
