Cyber-Bullying ('Public Conversation' – free and open to everyone)
Mon., February 20, 2006 – 6:30 to 8:30 pm
The proliferation of Internet and cell phone use among children and adolescents brings unprecedented challenges for parents and educators. To what extent should schools intervene when students cyber-bully their classmates outside school hours and off school grounds? Is this entirely a parental responsibility? Can educators foster virtual school environments that promote learning? In the absence of established legal boundaries for free expression, safety and privacy in cyber-space, this timely conversation will address the complexities and shifting standards of social interaction in cyber-space.
