OR

(HOW TO CHOOSE WHAT TO USE)

Practical Course

Instructor: Jacqueline Reznik, B. Appl. Sci (Physiotherapy), M.A.P.A., M.C.S.P., Dip T.P, M.Sc. (Neurology), Israel

Course Description

Five (5) sessions of 6.5 hours each of "hands-on" theoretical/practical sessions. This course aims to give participants an overview of the clinical application of a variety of recognized concepts and techniques used in neurological rehabilitation such as movement analysis and therapy, and neuromuscular facilitation. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the techniques demonstrated and to discuss their relevance and usefulness within their own areas of practice.

The neurophysiological principles and available research evidence underlying neurological techniques will be discussed, together with the theories of improving cognitive function by the relearning of motor tasks. Evidence-based treatment effectiveness will be presented and discussed. Techniques will be practiced in pairs (on each other) and demonstrated on clients with motor dysfunction when possible.

When: April 25, 26; May 1, 2, 3, 2009.

Registration deadline: March 30, 2009.
