Innovation week begins at the MUHC
Today marks the start of Innovation Week at the MUHC — a new initiative to involve staff and patients in the continued development of our health centre. Members of the MUHC community are encouraged to submit their ideas for improving the MUHC. Dr. Arthur T. Porter, Director General and CEO of the MUHC, has committed $80,000 to making the most innovative ideas a reality.
"The push for excellence and innovation in every one of our activities is what makes a great university hospital," says Dr. Porter. "Many of our staff and patients possess incredible ingenuity and the MUHC would like to encourage and recognize this creativity." If you have an idea that could improve our health centre, enter the MUHC Innovation Competition today and help make your vision a reality.
"Innovation can be found in the way you streamline your job duties or interact with other members of the MUHC community," says Dr. Porter. "A good idea doesn't have to involve high-tech equipment or major construction — oftentimes the simplest ideas are the best."
Applications can be downloaded from the MUHC Intranet, or picked up from the following rooms:
- K2.26 Montreal Chest Institute
- A1.08 Royal Victoria Hospital
- C2.150 Montreal General Hospital
- F372 Montreal Children's Hospital
- 174 Montreal Neurological Hospital
Competition organizers will visit each hospital between 6 and 9 September to spread the word and award "gift pins" for those that submit their ideas. The deadline for submission of ideas is Friday, September 30.
