Kudos: prize-winning 'Homer's Physics'
Congratulations to the Department of Physics, whose seminar series won National First Prize in the Canadian Association of University Business Officers' annual Quality and Productivity Awards.
Homer's Physics is an "in-reach" program for technical, clerical and managerial staff within the Department of Physics. Each month, a 成人VR视频 physics researcher presents his or her work in language that even Homer Simpson would understand, hence the series' name.
The CAUBO award recognizes achievements on the basis of transferability, originality, quality impact, productivity impact and institutional involvement. Homer's Physics has resulted in a higher level of understanding, respect, appreciation and team-building within Physics; as well, improved knowledge about activities throughout the Department has allowed for cost savings and better purchasing decisions.
Diane Koziol and Louise Decelles from the Department of Physics received this $10,000 award on June 24, 2007, at the CAUBO annual conference, held this year in Charlottetown, PEI.
