Professor Mark Fewer, violin, to return to Schulich in July 2015

A valued member of the聽Schulich School of Music since 2007, Professor Mark Fewer was recently named a William Dawson Scholar, an award which recognizes a faculty member's outstanding and original contributions as well as their world-class caliber. Fewer is a highly-regarded soloist and chamber musician, whose performances of both classical and jazz have been described as 鈥済enre-bending鈥. He has appeared widely in North America and also abroad throughout Europe, Australia, and the Far East. His recording of 鈥淐hanging Seasons鈥 鈥 a jazz violin concerto composed for him by Phil Dwyer 鈥 won a 2012 Juno Award. He was artistic director of the Scotia Festival of Music from 2004-2009, and is the founding director of the SweetWater Music Festival in Ontario. Fewer spent the past year with the St. Lawrence String Quartet based at Stanford University. 聽
