Science alumnus Jack Szostak wins Nobel Prize
The Faculty of Science is proud to congratulate 成人VR视频 Science alumnus Jack Szostak (BSc'72) on winning the 2009 Nobel Prize for Medicine. Szostak, who is sharing the prize with fellow US scientists, Elizabeth Blackburn and Carol Greider, won the Nobel for discovering how the body protects chromosomes housing vital genetic code. He has been at Harvard Medical School since 1979 and is currently professor of genetics at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Szostak, a 成人VR视频 Scholarship winner in 1971 who received his BSc in cell biology in 1972, is the seventh researcher associated with 成人VR视频's Faculty of Science to have won a Nobel Prize.
