Translation Studies Lecturer Wins Distinguished Teaching Award at 成人VR视频
The Department of Translation Studies is proud to announce that Dr. Daniel Zamorano has been awarded the Centre for Continuing Education鈥檚 2008 award for excellence in teaching.听
Since the Award for Distinguished Teaching was established in 1993, this has become the Centre鈥檚 way of recognizing on an annual basis individuals who embody the highest attributes of the teaching profession.听 As a valued member of the 成人VR视频 community, Dr. Zamorano 听has demonstrated a high level of commitment to quality teaching by motivating his students to build on the language and cultural competencies they acquired before deciding to continue their formal education in translation.
A graduate of the University of Montreal in comparative literature (1999) and the National University of Cordoba in journalism (1991), Dr. Zamorano has taught in 成人VR视频鈥檚 undergraduate and graduate programs in translation since 2003.听 A native speaker of Spanish hailing from Argentina, Dr. Zamorano has a mastery of both English and French, a fact which has proved to be most useful in his work in 成人VR视频鈥檚 trilingual translation programs.听
In the words of Department Director, Dr. James Archibald, Dr. Zamorano 鈥渃reates a student-centered learning environment where students are motivated to learn without fear of reprisal鈥.听 At the May 26th Convocation ceremony, Dr. Archibald highlighted Dr. Zamorano鈥檚 鈥渢eaching philosophy which values reflection, intellectual curiosity and self-actualization鈥.
The Department of Translation Studies offers an undergraduate Certificate in Translation with as well as a Graduate Diploma in Translation, both with English, French and Spanish options.
