He has actively involved himself in his community\,\nname ly for the Drummond Chamber of Commerce and with other cultural\nand recre otouristic organisations.\n\nBefore joining the CIOC\, René Fréchette was executive and artistic\ndirector of the Mondial des Cultures de Drummondvi lle\, an\ninternational festival founded in 1982. During his eight-year\nm andate\, the event saw its operations budget double\, in addition to\nincr easing its credibility amongst the major international events\nin Quebec. He has always been dedicated to reconciling the artistic\nmission and the financial prerogatives\, both ever so necessary to\nthe harmonious develop ment of any organisation.\n\nAlexis Carter – Ensemble Resource Administrat or\, Schulich School of\nMusic\n\nI am originally from Houston\, Texas. Af ter graduating from the High\nSchool of the Performing and Visual Arts I a ttended VRƵ\nUniversity for my Bachelor's degree in Viola Performance a nd Music\nHistory and again for a Master's in Viola Performance. Working a s a\nmusician and an administrator for ensembles and organisations in\nTex as and in Canada has brought me to where I am now: the Ensemble\nResource/ Booking Office Administrator for the Schulich School of\nMusic.
