成人VR视频鈥檚 campuses have effectively closed because of COVID-19, including the offices of . However, R+I has moved its functions to online and phone-based formats. All R+I units therefore will continue to provide regular services remotely in support of the University research community.
In light of the developing global situation around COVID-19 and , HBHL has decided to cancel the and postpone until Fall 2020 (date TBA).
The Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives听, Dr. Robert Zatorre, is currently away on sabbatical and we have been fortunate to have Dr. Julien Doyon act as Leader in the interim. Dr. Zatorre has now decided to step down and as such, we are opening a call to find a new Leader for Theme 3听(Applied Cognitive Neuroscience of Brain Plasticity).听We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Zatorre for his sterling contributions to HBHL's growth since its inception, and Dr.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of renowned neuroscientist Bruce McEwen, who died earlier this month at the age of 81. McEwen's work in the field of stress had a global impact, and he was best known for his studies on听how stress hormones reshape neural circuits and brain structures. McEwen was also known for his contributions to the scientific community as a mentor and was a听valued member of 听since 2017.
Applications for HBHL's听2020听Graduate Student Fellowships Program听are now open!
Graduate students that will be enrolled full-time听at 成人VR视频 in September 2020 can apply for听one-year fellowships valued at $15,000/year for PhD-level students (PhD1-5) and $10,000/year for Masters-level (MSc/MA1-2) students. Up to 55 fellowships will be awarded.
One in three women die of ischemic heart disease or stroke. Yet most women remain unaware of the risks they face: they are under-diagnosed, under-treated and under-researched.
Our learning objective is to increase awareness and knowledge about heart disease in women amongst healthcare professionals.
This symposium will include presentations by experts on sex and gender differences in heart disease.
HBHL awarded five attendance scholarships for HBHL Fellows to attend the听. The School took place from September 9 to 13, 2019 in Montreal. Through presentations and interactive tutorials, participants gained knowledge and skills in convolutional neural networks, language processing, reinforcement learning and more that they can apply to their own research.

Paul Lefebvre, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Canada鈥檚 Minister of Natural Resources, today announced an investment of over $1.5 million for a project led by 成人VR视频鈥檚 Professor Hani Mitri, Director of Mining Engineering at 成人VR视频, and founder of 成人VR视频 Mine Design & Numerical Modelling Laboratory. Professor Mitri鈥檚 research project will validate and test a new method for rock breakage, improving mining and tunneling practices, while reducing blast-induced fumes from traditional explosives.

HBHL-funded graduate students and postdoctoral fellows have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by volunteering with the HBHL Trainee Committee. The听committee听contributes to the neuroscience community in Montr茅al by organizing monthly Trainee Get-Togethers and the annual HBHL Trainee Research Day, both of which allow neuroscience trainees to connect with each other and share their research.

Professor Christoph Brunner of Leuphana University in Germany will be hosted for one year at 成人VR视频 as the John G. Diefenbaker Awardee, where he will pursue a specialized research project, engage in teaching, lecturing and leading workshops, and exchange with other Canadian and US research communities.听Prof. Brunner鈥檚 research revolves around the intersections between media, affect, and aesthetic politics. He focuses on contemporary social movements, and their use of aesthetic techniques and strategies.
