Emily McDonald, MD, MSc

Dr. McDonald is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in General Internal Medicine and the Director of the Department of Medicine Clinical Practice Assessment Unit. She has completed medical school, fellowship and a Masters in Epidemiology at 成人VR视频 and post-graduate training in patient safety and quality improvement at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as well as the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public program in clinical effectiveness. Her research focuses on drug safety and effectiveness with a particular emphasis on polypharmacy and deprescribing in older adults. She has received funding from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and the Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation for ongoing pragmatic randomized controlled trials investigating drug dosing and safer prescribing. She is the co-inventor of MedSafer, a software that guides clinicians and patients through the process of deprescribing.聽
