Biography: 

Lynne Bowker, PhD, is Full Professor and Canada Research Chair in Translation, Technologies and Society at Universit茅 Laval and Adjunct Professor at 成人VR视频. Previously, she held tenured faculty positions at Dublin City University and the University of Ottawa. She is a membre chercheuse r茅guli猫re of OBVIA (Observatoire international sur les impacts soci茅taux de l鈥橧A et du num茅rique). Her main teaching and research interests lie at the intersection of translation and technologies. She is the director of the , and her research has been funded by several organizations, including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada.

Dr. Bowker has held visiting professorships at universities in Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, Italy, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom, and in 2019 she was the researcher-in-residence at Concordia University Library. She is a member of the editorial board of several journals, including the Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST), the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics, the International Journal of Lexicography and The Interpreter and Translator Trainer. She is an avid science communicator and an advocate for open science.

Dr. Bowker is a certified translator (FR-EN) with the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interpr猫tes agr茅茅s du Qu茅bec (OTTIAQ).
