Luna Vives

Luna Vives is a political geographer interested in issues of race, territory, and public policy and an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Universit茅 de Montr茅al. She is interested in the use of policy instruments to discriminate against marginalized populations, and in particular against racialized groups. Much of her research has focused on the evolution of the anti-immigration border along southern Europe. Currently, Luna is developing a comprehensive analysis of the Mediterranean border to assess the impact that anti-immigration measures have had, and continue to have, on the migration of unaccompanied migrant children.

Luna joined the CRCF in 2015, first as a Research Associate and later as a Postdoctoral Fellow. As part of the Children鈥檚 Services Policy Research Group, Luna has collaborated with Professor Vandna Sinha, other members of the CRCF, and Indigenous organizations to support the full and meaningful implementation of Jordan鈥檚 Principle in Canada.

Luna is member of the ACME editorial collective and co-founder of the Migration Research Collective / Collectif de Recherche sur les Migrations.
