This role is key to ensuring that ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ students who self-identify as Muslim are supported and that their concerns and needs are communicated with ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ’s senior leadership in a manner that is clear, timely, effective, and centered on their success and wellness.

  • Listen to Muslim students and ensure that their needs and interests are communicated to the University and addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Refer Muslim students towards the appropriate resources so that they feel better equipped to succeed and flourish.
  • Foster a climate where Muslim students feel heard, seen, supported, empowered and celebrated.
  • Create opportunities for building a sense of community and spaces that feel safe, nourishing and inspiring for Muslim students.
  • Make the numerous invisible barriers and unique challenges facing Muslim students on campus more visible and collaborate in the process of dismantling them.
  • Raise awareness about Islamophobia and increase the ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ community’s understanding of Islam and Muslim identities.
