Understanding and Navigating the Journey of Dementia

The 成人VR视频 Dementia Education Program is pleased to invite you to a free public lecture offered in collaboration with The Council for Black Aging Community of Montreal, the Eva Marsden Centre for Social Justice and Aging, the LaSalle Multicultural Resource Center, and Women on the Rise.
This public lecture aims to raise awareness and provide basic information about Alzheimer鈥檚 and聽other dementia-related diseases.
During this presentation, Dr. Serge Gauthier, a clinical neurologist, will provide聽information on the different types of neurocognitive disorders. He will discuss the聽associated behavioural and psychological symptoms that manifest as the disease聽progresses, and explain how these may differ from typical aging concerns.聽Dr. Gauthier is聽Professor Emeritus in the Department of Neurology &聽Neurosurgery and the Department of Psychiatry at 成人VR视频, and the聽Academic Co-Lead of the Dementia Education Program.
Next, Mrs. Claire Webster, former caregiver and Certified Dementia Care聽Consultant, will share practical advice on how to care for a person living with聽dementia. She will discuss important considerations to ensure the safety and聽well-being of both the individual as well as the care partner to help families聽understand and access the resources needed to navigate this disease.聽Claire is the聽Founder and Ambassador of the Dementia
Education Program at 成人VR视频, and聽Founder and President, Caregiver Crosswalk Inc.
A question and answer period will take place after the lecture.
