Biography: 

Beatriz Ferraz dos Santos is a clinician-scientist with postgraduate training in Pediatric Dentistry. She obtained her DDS from the Araraquara Dental School, São Paulo State University, Brazil. She received a MSc in Pediatric Dentistry from the same university and her Public Health residency specialty at the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. She is situated at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and is the research director of the Division of Dentistry.

Her main research interests lie in the field of pediatric dentistry, oral epidemiology and public health. The goal of her research program is to better understand the role of social, biological and environmental factors in the incidence of dental caries in children. Furthermore, her scientific work also focusses on oral health-related problems of patients with rare conditions and syndromes.
