AI Is Good for Us: A Microsoft-sponsored white paper
AI has become an omnipresent topic of discussion in our daily lives, both professionally and personally. While much has been written on the challenges, risks, and pitfalls of AI (and the strong need to regulate its development and deployment carefully), it's also important to highlight its numerous benefits and positive impacts on society and the economy. In his latest white paper, ‘AI Is Good for Us’, Professor Maxime Cohen defines AI and provides its brief history before presenting a comprehensive discussion on how it is benefiting humanity across multiple industries and dimensions. He posits that, if managed correctly, AI can significantly enhance efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and accessibility in fields such as healthcare, environmental conservation, and legal systems. As highlighted in the white paper sponsored by Microsoft, AI is already improving mental healthcare, accelerating drug discovery, and revolutionizing wildlife conservation, among many other areas.
