Anita Nowak鈥檚 book Purposeful Empathy helps reviewer understand generation gaps in climate crisis impact
To understand the impact of the climate crisis on younger generations, empathy is a place to start. It is a necessary part of confronting, but on its own, it is not enough. Desautels lecturer Anita Nowak (BA'97, BCom'97, PhD'11) recently published her book听Purposeful Empathy, which is described as听an inspiring and powerful read by Quebec MNA D茅sir茅e McGraw in a review for Policy Magazine. 鈥淭his is a book that helps middle-aged people like me understand, collaborate and ultimately innovate with the next generation of Millennials and Gen Z,鈥 McGraw says. 鈥淣euroscience tells us that young adults in particular are hardwired for innovation. We need to draw on this strength to find solutions to problems at a speed that is unprecedented in human history."
