Mentorship is a two-way street

Work from home changes leadership. How do you acculturate people if you鈥檙e not all in the same place? Mentorship is important in an evolving workplace, said Prof. Karl Moore on the Six Pixels of Separation podcast. But it鈥檚 a two-way street. 鈥淚 have some mentors that are older than me, and it doesn鈥檛 occur to them to ask my advice,鈥 says Moore. 鈥淏ut I often tell young people that thirty per cent of the time they鈥檙e mentoring me, and they don鈥檛 always understand that means the other seventy per cent of the time, I鈥檓 mentoring them.鈥
