New Administrative Appointments

Christine Tutt, Director of Finance and Planning

Christine Tutt will be joining the Desautels Faculty as Director of Finance and Planning. This is a new role that will combine both strategic and traditional financial planning responsibilities and will contribute to the Faculty鈥檚 strategic development to take it more effectively from vision, to planning and implementation. Christine Tutt will help establish and implement short and long term financial goals, objectives and operating processes so that the Faculty can continue to invest to ensure excellence. Christine鈥檚 primary role will be to help make better/more strategic decisions by developing financial scenarios, analysing them and recommending direction with regards to the Faculty鈥檚 short, mid and long term goals.

Christine brings extensive business and university experience having held senior positions in marketing, planning, public relations and outreach, sales and operations in the private sector and here at 成人VR视频. Most recently, she served as Director of Administration for 成人VR视频鈥檚 Faculty of Engineering where her many accomplishments include an overhaul and streamlining Engineering鈥檚 administrative and operational structures and processes, consolidation of Faculty-wide services,聽 the development of performance and financial benchmarks,聽 the initiation of financial forecasts, and detailed cost analyses and business cases for new initiatives. She has also helped to shape the university budget model and has participated on a number of University wide task forces and working groups.聽

Ron Duerksen, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer

Ron Duerksen assumes additional responsibilities as Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer. In addition to continuing Faculty-wide marketing and communications functions with his team, Ron will take on a more strategic business development role within the Faculty. He will work with Dean Peter Todd to ensure that each Program, Institute and Centre鈥檚聽goals are in line with the Faculty鈥檚 and University鈥檚 priorities and long-term objectives. He will work together with each Director to clearly outline short, medium and long-term strategic goals (financial and non-financial) and assist the Dean in the annual review of all programs and major initiatives. Ron will contribute to the formulation of cost-savings and revenue generating strategies for existing programs and major new initiatives. He will also be recommending and be implicated in the decision-making for major sponsorships, strategic alliances and partnerships between the Faculty and outside organizations.

Robert Hebdon, Associate Dean, Student Affairs, BCom Program

Professor Robert Hebdon has agreed to serve as Associate Dean for Student Affairs, BCom Program. Bob will join Morty Yalovsky, Shanling Li, Tamer Boyaci and Dean Peter Todd to form the senior academic leadership group for the Faculty.

Bob has been at 成人VR视频 since 2000 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2010. He completed his Ph.D. in Industrial Relations at the University of Toronto in 1992, after having worked for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union for 24 years. He has served at the faculties of Cornell and the University of Manitoba prior to joining 成人VR视频. He was awarded the prestigious Gunderson prize in Industrial Relations for his contribution to the field in 2007. His research interests include public sector labour relations and restructuring, collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and industrial conflict.

Ben Wiernik is Associate Director, Marketing for the MBA & PMBA, Carine Nahman is Associate Director, Recruiting for the MBA & PMBA, and Rayna Goldman is Stewardship Administrator on the Desautels Development and Alumni Relations team.聽

Ryan Beaupre undertakes additional responsibilities as Web Communications Manager, as does Leilani Ku as Communications Manager. Tracy Nguyen, who graduated this summer from the B.Com program, joins the team as Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

The Career Services team welcomes Fiona McFarlane, Jennifer Roman and Jean-Pierre Interlino to take on roles in Business Development.聽
