Congratulations to KPE's Ph.D. student, Alexandra Potvin-Desrochers, for receiving the Graduate Student Award from (2019-21) and a Doctoral Scholarship from (CRIR, 2019).

Alexandra is a PhD candidate interested in better understanding and improving motor control of clinical populations. She studies locomotion impairments in individuals with Parkinson’s disease, and more specifically, those who experience a symptom called freezing of gait. Her research uses brain imaging to describe patients’ brain connectivity, but also attempts to improve their locomotion using non-invasive brain stimulation.

Alexandra is currently with Dr. Caroline Paquette's Human Brain Control of Locomotion Lab (HBCL).
