Abstract
The project Current Public Health Interventions Addressing Black Mental Health Outcomes was a scoping review conducted under the supervision and assistance of Public Health Ontario鈥檚 Health Promotion, Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Department and its Health Equity team, based out of Toronto, ON. The 16-week practicum consisted of project research focused on examining public health interventions that aimed to impact Black mental health outcomes, analyzing and applying the findings to Ontario mental health care settings that work directly with Black populations. This scoping review focused on public health interventions that aimed to impact Black populations鈥� mental health outcomes. Through literature screening, extraction and thematic analysis, eight themes were determined: COVID-19 recovery, community building, increased access/infrastructure, culturally responsive/relevant interventions, eliminating ABR in health and social services, stigma, online resources, and capacity strengthening/leadership. Implications to practice include reinforcing local resources, Black mental health care teams operational standards and further refining programming to community needs.聽
