Current research:
Humans have become a primary driver of global climate and environmental change, and there is a growing recognition for the need to both incorporate the human system into Earth system models and understand our activities for policy purposes. However, human activities are yet to be quantified or described precisely. My research aims to fill this gap between natural and social sciences by using time use as the central measure. In particular, I use the average daily time allocated to a set of physically oriented and unambiguous activities to describe what humans are doing in relation to the Earth system.聽聽
