Associate Professor

Petra Rohrbach
Biography:

I am an associate professor at the Institute of Parasitology located on the Macdonald campus. Prior to joining 成人VR视频, I was at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, where I obtained my PhD and habilitation. My research focuses on infectious disease, specifically the malaria parasite, where we study the role of extracellular vesicles on disease progress and drug resistance. I am passionate about science and nature and enjoy spending my free time outdoors going on hikes and adventures with my family and dog.

At 成人VR视频 I have had the privilege to serve on Senate, the Board of Governors, as an assessor for the Policy on Harassment and Discrimination, and was a former president of 成人VR视频 Association of University Teachers (MAUT). As a faculty member, especially a new faculty member, finding a work-life balance can be challenging. My experience has shown me the importance of establishing priorities and strategies to achieve an attainable work-life balance.

Mentorship matters to me because I know firsthand that life is messy and navigating the university system can seem overwhelming. With guidance this journey can become much more enjoyable.
