Scope of work:
The project includes exterior work only and it is on a limited area of the envelope (‘prototype’). This is the 2nd and final phase of this project. It includes replacement/repair of some the masonry stones and lintels, rejointing all the prototype area and addition of copper flashing to protect areas where masonry blocks are projecting from the surface of the façade.
Impact & mitigation:
- The project includes major lifting operations, during which signalers will be on site to redirect pedestrian traffic.
- The section of the main staircase nearest to the building corner (where the prototype is located) will be blocked for safety, but the doors will all remain operational. Ground-level universal access will be kept operational throughout the project, with a protected area and presence of security when required.
- Windows will be protected so no dust can enter the building.
- The noisier work will be scheduled to limit disruptions to the building users as much as possible.
