The Research Division of the Department of Family Medicine presents "Leveraging Social Networks to promote cardiometabolic health: Tales from the trenches", a research seminar by Tracie Barnett, PhD.听

Dr. Tracie Barnett is an FRQS Senior Career Award Scholar, Associate Professor at 成人VR视频, and a researcher at the Sainte-Justine research centre. The overarching aim of Dr. Barnett鈥檚 program of research is to investigate the influence of features of built and social environments on pediatric and youth obesity, and how these can be leveraged to promote healthy weight in youth. Her PI-led studies focus on defining relevant environments, capturing salient characteristics and producing meaningful indicators within residential neighbourhoods, schools and social networks; exploring how these change and to evolve over time as
youth grow and mature, and testing novel risk factors underlying potential mediating pathways in the environment-obesity relation Her talk will provide an overview of the evidence linking social environments to cardiometabolic health across the life span, and present findings from a recent pilot study on social networks and obesity in youth.
