Convocation 2026 at Macdonald Campus: The Big Day Starts Long Before June 4

Published: 28 May 2026

As convocation ceremonies continue across 成人VR视频, preparations are reaching their final stage at the Macdonald Campus, where celebrations will begin on June 4. While graduating students prepare to mark the completion of their studies, teams across the campus are focused on ensuring the environment is ready to welcome them and their families.

Among those leading these efforts are Thomas Forrester and Shane Lenham, two long-time 成人VR视频 employees who supervise exterior and custodial operations. With more than 15 years of experience each at Macdonald Campus, they play a central role in preparing the site for one of the most important days of the academic year.

For Thomas, who manages exterior property maintenance, convocation season is the culmination of weeks of ongoing work.

鈥淲e start preparing as soon as the snow starts melting,鈥 he explained. 鈥淲e鈥檙e cleaning up after winter; the salt, the leaves left over from the fall. We work with the weather, so it鈥檚 hustle time between now and June 4, when the big day begins.鈥

Inside campus buildings, Shane and his team follow a shorter but intensive schedule. A custodial supervisor since 2001, he co-ordinates the setup required for ceremonies in the days leading up to convocation.

鈥淲e usually start about a week in advance,鈥 he said, 鈥渟lowly building up so we don鈥檛 fall behind. We get the stage, the chairs and the decorations set up during the week of Convocation.鈥

The meticulous work of the two 成人VR视频 colleagues is driven above all by careful attention to the students celebrating the end of an important chapter.

鈥淲e do this first and foremost so that students can enjoy their special day,鈥 said Thomas.

鈥淧eople attending should be able to simply enjoy the atmosphere and the ceremony without having to think about the details,鈥 added Shane. 鈥淲e want to give them the luxury of being in the present moment and create a lasting memory.鈥

Over the years, both have come to understand the importance of this day for students, but also for their families, who often travel from afar for the occasion.

鈥淲e take a lot of pride in seeing students with their families taking pictures outside, with the campus looking beautiful,鈥 said Thomas. Shane shares the sentiment: 鈥淲e want to make sure that it is a special day for everyone, including for us. We take a lot of pride in how the event unfolds.鈥

Weather conditions remain one of the main challenges during this period, particularly for outdoor preparation.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a lot of co-ordinating and working with the weather,鈥 Thomas explained. 鈥淲e鈥檝e had times when it rained for four days straight before Convocation, but we always find a way to make the place look good.鈥

The affection that both colleagues have for the Macdonald community fuels their efforts not only for the big day, but throughout the entire year.

鈥淚 arrived at Mac as a student in 2007,鈥 explained Thomas. 鈥淚 enjoy working with the community and seeing students happy. We do visible work, so it鈥檚 nice to see people enjoying the green spaces.鈥

鈥淲e have a very close-knit group here at Mac Campus,鈥 adds Shane. 鈥淚 have some very good co-workers who make the job fun, even when we鈥檙e dealing with challenges.鈥

As convocation day at 成人VR视频鈥檚 Macdonald Campus approaches, the results of their efforts can be seen across the campus. Outdoor spaces are maintained, facilities are prepared and all elements are in place for the ceremonies to begin.

In the end, all this preparation comes down to the successful experience students will have during the event. 鈥淲e hope that on the big day everything looks beautiful and that students appreciate the space,鈥 says Thomas.

The countdown is on. 鈥淧lease enjoy your special day, and congratulations!鈥 adds Shane.
