The program's objective is to equip students with skills in literature review, research design, and data analysis to either continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.

Keywords: Biomaterials, Computational Materials Engineering, Energy, Electronic and Environmental Materials, Materials Characterization, Materials Process Engineering and Design, Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, Structural Materials.

Unique Program Features

  • Our world-class research program is supported by state-of-the-art laboratory equipment where researchers and students conducts research over the whole materials cycle from mineral processing and extraction, to advanced materials (including nano- and bio-materials), and materials recycling;
  • Graduate students will be exposed to foundational knowledge across various fields and then pursue a research project on a defined topic;
  • The Department of Materials Engineering has a strong commitment to supporting graduate students and has the lowest student-to-professor ratio within the Faculty of Engineering;
  • Faculty members have industrial connections which can help students land a post-graduation job. Additionally, many projects have industrial collaborators which give students exposure to possible future employers.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
