Occupational Health (M.Sc.A.)

The Master of Science, Applied (M.Sc.A.) in Occupational Health (Non-Thesis) offered by the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a course-based program that emphasizes career-focused and dynamic learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in problem identification, project evaluation, and the communication of complex ideas to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

Unique Program Features

  • The three-term program focuses on occupational health and safety, and industrial hygiene. Typical applicants include graduates from engineering and basic sciences, physicians, and nurses;
  • The program is multidisciplinary, and involves engineering, chemistry, ergonomics, epidemiology, and occupational health;
  • The Department is known for its pioneering research in occupational hazards associated with agents such as respirable dust, chemical hazards and radiation.
  • Graduates will be well-equipped to evaluate the work environment and its hazards, and proposing appropriate methods of prevention and control.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
