Physical Therapy (M.Sc.A.PT.)

Program Description

The Master of Science, Applied (M.Sc.A.PT.) in Physical Therapy (Non-Thesis) offered by the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a course-based program that emphasizes cutting-edge and career-focused learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in information synthesis, educational methodology, and communication to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

Unique Program Features

  • The program is typically completed in 1.5 years, equivalent to five semesters, and includes four clinical practicum totaling 1,050 hours, leading to professional licensure to practice;
  • Courses emphasize client-centered and evidence-based practice across the lifespan and health care continuum, and include health promotion from prevention of disability to rehabilitation;
  • The Master's project (last semester) prepares students to become autonomous and effective professionals through the acquisition of research skills;
  • The School is internationally recognized for the excellence of its contribution to research in rehabilitation.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
