Dirk Schlimm
Biography:
I am mainly interested in human reasoning, in particular in mathematics, from an interdisciplinary point of view. My work falls into the areas of history and philosophy of mathematics and science, epistemology, and cognitive science. More recently, my research has revolved around the developments in the 19th and early 20th century that led to the emergence of modern mathematics and logic, and in systematic investigations regarding the use of notations. Having been educated in Europe and the U.S.A., I can also offer an international perspective on academia.
