Let's Talk about Menopause (Virtual)
Offered by the Health and Well-being Program
Despite being a natural and inevitable life transition for women, menopause is often shrouded in silence and taboo. This lack of discussion can lead to a lack of knowledge, understanding, and support for women going through this transition.
In this session, Dr. Ann Rothman breaks the silence and openly discusses menopause and its different stages, including perimenopause and postmenopause. She will explore the various physical and emotional symptoms that women may experience during this transition, such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood swings, and fatigue. She will also delve into the impact of menopause on a woman's mental and emotional wellbeing, including the potential for depression and anxiety.
Dr. Rothman will discuss the importance of support and resources for women going through menopause as well as the various treatment options available for managing menopausal symptoms, such as hormone replacement therapy, lifestyle changes, and alternative therapies. Additionally, she will address common misconceptions and fears surrounding menopause and provide participants with evidence-based information to alleviate concerns.
This session aims to provide a safe and supportive space for women to discuss menopause openly and ask questions without judgment. By breaking the silence, we hope to empower women to take control of their health and wellbeing during this transition. Moreover, we hope to encourage broader conversations about menopause in society and promote greater understanding and support for women going through this significant life change.
