Ling uistic research offers tools for analyzing these patterns\, yet academic w ork and community-based language revitalization efforts are often separate d by differences in goals and accessibility. This talk explores ways to br idge that gap by putting linguistic analysis directly in service of teache rs\, speakers\, and second language learners.\n\nDrawing on stories from H audenosaunee oral literature\, this work pays close attention to how the c ategory of particles can illuminate aspects of language that are difficult for learners to grasp but essential for fluency and cultural meaning. Rat her than simply assigning English translations to these particles\, effort s to understand how particles uniquely shape communicative functions are n ecessary.\n\nThis is a hybrid event! To join online\, register here. Or sh ow up in person to 3420 Rue McTavish\, Donald E. Armstrong\, Room 365.\n DTSTART:20260225T210000Z DTEND:20260226T000000Z LOCATION:Room 365\, Donald E.
