Microsoft Teams update: Private Teams only for enhanced security!
Important update for Microsoft Teams users! Starting November 27, 2024, all newly created Microsoft Teams groups were set to Private by default. If you attempt to create a new team, the Public option will be unavailable (greyed out), as shown below:
When creating a Teams group, it will be clearly labeled as Private (see screenshot below), and this label will also appear on its associated SharePoint site, ensuring that access remains restricted to authorized members only.
