Important update for Microsoft Teams users! Starting November 27, 2024, all newly created Microsoft Teams groups were set to Private by default. If you attempt to create a new team, the Public option will be unavailable (greyed out), as shown below:

When creating a Teams group, it will be clearly labeled as Private (see screenshot below), and this label will also appear on its associated SharePoint site, ensuring that access remains restricted to authorized members only.

Key benefits

• Private Teams: Accessible only to members added by the owner, ensuring that the team content and its associated SharePoint site remain secure and restricted to authorized individuals.

• Public Teams: Accessible to anyone with the link, potentially allowing unauthorized users access and increasing security risks.

If you require a Public Teams group, you will now need to submit a request via the .
