Equality and the Indian Supreme Court: The Naz Foundation Case

The Centre聽 for Human rights and Legal Pluralism and the Annie MacDonald Langstaff Lecture Series welcome , PhD Candidate, Harvard University, who will talk about "Equality and the Indian Supreme Court: The Naz Foundation Case."

On December 2013, the Supreme Court of India declared the criminalization of homosexual relations was constitutional (Suresh Kumar Koushal v. Naz Foundation). In this talk, Madhav Khosla will discuss the decision and unpack its reasoning.

About the Annie MacDonald Langstaff Workshops

Inaugurated in 1988 in honour of Annie MacDonald Langstaff, BCL '14, the first woman to earn a law degree in Quebec, the workshops provide a forum for academics, judges, lawyers, and community activists to present scholarly research and practical insights on issues relating to women and the law.
