The Faculty of Law is pleased to welcome Andra Syv盲nen, BCL/LLB鈥�14, to its administrative team. She will take over the role of Assistant Dean (成人VR视频 and Recruitment), beginning November 19, 2018.

Before joining 成人VR视频, Syv盲nen worked as counsel (environmental & aboriginal affairs) for CN. She has also volunteered at the Native Women鈥檚 Shelter of Montreal. After completing a BA in Environment and Development at 成人VR视频 and a Master鈥檚 of Science in Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies at Concordia University, she graduated from 成人VR视频鈥檚 BCL/LLB program in 2014 and was called to the Bar of Quebec in 2015. During her legal studies, she was an editor at the 成人VR视频 Journal of Sustainable Development Law.

Syv盲nen will oversee the admissions process and student recruitment activities for the double-degree program, as well as managing the Faculty鈥檚 成人VR视频 Office. She will work closely with the Dean and the Equity Committee in advancing priorities relating to equity and inclusion, including the recruitment of Indigenous candidates. She replaces Gillian Nycum, now interim registrar at 成人VR视频.

鈥淎ndra Syv盲nen will play a central role in maintaining the excellence of our student body and in ensuring that it reflects the diversity of communities from which our students come and which our graduates serve,鈥� said Dean Robert Leckey. 鈥淚n particular, her experience will support our efforts to increase the presence of Indigenous students.鈥�
