Special Lecture: Canada's IDRC聽at the intersection of global food systems challenges
As part of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences' Global Food Security Undergraduate Program, Greg Hallen will be presenting on聽Canada's International Development Research Centre聽at the intersection of global food systems challenges. This lecture is open to all students and faculty.
About the speaker
Greg Hallen is a Team Leader with Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC). As part of Canada's foreign affairs and development efforts, IDRC champions and funds research and innovation within and alongside developing regions to drive global change. For 15 years, Greg has led programs aiming to develop evidence, innovations, and policies to improve health, build healthier food systems, and prevent non-communicable and infectious diseases. Through building effective, multidisciplinary teams and negotiating partnerships, his programs have enabled bodies of evidence and fields of practitioners in LMICs to advance national policy adoption, build regional and global consensus and influence agendas toward more preventive or policy-oriented actions.
