Dr. Grace Marquis, School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, has received $500,000 CAD from the Queen Elizabeth Scholars initiative to fund researchers and scholars at 成人VR视频 and the University of Ghana.
The Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships aim to activate a dynamic community of young global leaders across the Commonwealth to create lasting impacts both at home and abroad through inter-cultural exchanges encompassing international education, discovery and inquiry, and professional experiences.
Grace Marquis has received $ 500,000 CAD for her three-year project entitled, 鈥淎 network of interdisciplinary, solution-oriented researchers to improve the livelihoods and food and nutrition security of adolescent girls and women farmers in rural Ghana鈥. The project will fund 16 scholars from Ghana and Canada, including PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, and early-career researchers. This program is designed to give opportunities for Queen Elizabeth Scholars to work with researchers and staff from diverse disciplines and institutions and to help establish links across sectors/disciplines. It is focused on strengthening the capacity of a global community of interdisciplinary researchers who will work with farmers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and local institutions to develop solutions to the complex, interrelated problems related to agriculture and food security. Additionally, the project will help to improve the economic and nutritional well-being of girls and women, their children, and their families in rural agriculture-based communities.聽
