 鈥痜ocuses on parasitic organisms in humans\, livestock\, and other animals\
 , the relationship with their host and the means to limit the impact of pa
 rasitic disease on health and wellbeing. The interface of parasitism/immun
 ity/nutrition is also examined in the context of the host鈥損arasite interac
 tion.聽聽\n\nThe Institute is housed in its own building adjacent to the Mac
 donald Campus Library and has well-equipped modern laboratories with excel
 lent facilities for molecular research\, including a confocal suite. Small
  and large animal facilities are available on the Macdonald Campus. The In
 stitute is affiliated with the鈥疛.D. MacLean Centre for Tropical Diseases鈥痑
