Speakers
Pierre-Olivier Pineau is a professor at HEC Montr茅al, Department of Decision Sciences.听His main research interests are in energy and environmental policy, electricity markets, and energy poverty.
Peter Dietsch is a philosopher and economist, and professor in the D茅partement de Philosophie at Universit茅 de Montr茅al. His research focuses on issues of economic ethics, notably on tax justice, normative dimensions of monetary policy, and on income inequalities. In addition to numerous articles in academic journals as well as public media, Dietsch is the author of Catching Capital 鈥� The Ethics of Tax Competition(Oxford University Press, 2015), co-author of Do Central Banks Serve the People? (Polity Press, 2018), and co-editor of Global Tax Governance 鈥� What is Wrong with It and How to Fix It (ECPR Press, 2016). In 2017, Dietsch was nominated to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada.

Mia Homsy has been the Director General听of IDQ since its founding. Between 2009 and 2012, she was a political advisor and deputy chief of staff at the Quebec Ministry of Finance, then senior economic advisor to the leader of the official opposition in 2012 and 2013. In 2018, Mia Homsy was named vice-president of the Advisory Council on the Implementation of a National Pharmacare Plan by the Government of Canada. A graduate in international studies from the University of Montreal and a master's graduate听in international management from HEC Montreal, Mia Homsy regularly speaks in the media to comment on economic and budgetary issues.
