McIntyre Medical Sciences Building Update – Additional Areas to Reopen Sept. 10-14

Published: 10 September 2018

To all members of the Faculty of Medicine,

Further toÌýlast week’s updateÌýon the McIntyre Medical Sciences Building, during which we confirmed the opening of the 5th and 6th floor amphitheatres and 2nd floor classrooms, we are pleased to report that the following additional areas will be opened as follows:

  • 1stÌýfloor laboratories (Monday, September 10),
  • Rooms 519 and 634 (Monday, September 10),
  • 6thÌýfloor north-side offices (Friday, September 14).

The Faculty is coordinating directly with those who were relocated from the 1st floor labs and 6th floor north-side offices regarding their return to the McIntyre. Work on the remaining floors where damage was more significant — namely the 3rd and 4th floors as well as areas on the south-side of the 5th, 6th and 7th (suite 701-702) —Ìýwill continue through the fall.

I reiterate my thanks to the faculty and staff whose permanent labs and offices are located in the McIntyre; your understanding and collaboration have been key in helping the ³ÉÈËVRÊÓƵ and external project teams work tirelessly and meticulously to return the building to a fully functional state.

Ìý

Sincerely,

David Eidelman, MDCM
Vice-Principal (Health Affairs)
Dean, Faculty of Medicine
