Feedback and Debriefing in Simulation-Based Education: From Principles to Practice
Target audience: Novice instructors or those with limited formal training in simulation-based education
This workshop is designed for teaching facultyÌýwho are involved (or will be involved) as instructors in simulation-based learning activities. This practical workshop will provide participants with a brief overview of the relevant educational background, followed by opportunities to practice debriefing skills with experienced educators in a safe learning environment. Participants will be able to incorporate skills they learn in this workshop immediately into their teaching sessions, working to optimize the learning of their students.
At the end of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Outline principles of effective debriefing sessions for simulation-based education
- Apply a framework to debriefing in the simulation context​
