At the same time\, common waste products have the potential to be sources of the se valuable materials. Join MIAM in welcoming Audrey Moores (成人VR视频 Chemis try) and Sidney Omelon (成人VR视频 Mining & Materials Engineering) as they dis cuss how this can work in practice\, whether it is turning the chitlin in crustacean shells into biodegradable plastics or 鈥渞ecycling P from pee鈥 鈥 that is\, recovering the element phosphorus\, a key input to agriculture a nd industry\, from biowaste.\n\nAUDREY MOORES聽focuses on different aspects of green chemistry in her research\, such as catalysis and biobased mater ials. In particular\, she worked on the use of iron and iron oxide nanopar ticles as catalysts or magnetically recyclable supports for聽hydrogenation聽 and oxidation reactions.聽Since 2018\, she has received national media cove rage for working on transforming shrimp shell waste into biodegradable pla stics.\n\nSIDNEY OMELON聽works to improve our civilization鈥檚 sustainability by designing new processes to recover waster materials for reuse. She inv estigates and tests low temperature\, low pressure processes to convert wa ste to valuable materials\, and 鈥 as in the case of phosphorus fertilizer\ , whose production is currently unsustainable 鈥 to create loops to recover and reuse critical nutrients. Her research group also focuses on crystall ization\, vertebrate biomineralization\, and carbonate chemistry.\n\nThe e vent will be moderated by MIAM Co-Director and 成人VR视频 Professor of Chemist ry聽MATTHEW HARRINGTON.\n DTSTART:20260226T230000Z DTEND:20260227T003000Z LOCATION:Arts Building\, Room W-120\, Arts Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0G5\, 853 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Future of Materials Roundtable: Turning Waste Into Wealth: How Mate rials Engineering and Green Chemistry Transform Unwanted Substances Into V aluable Resources URL:/miam/channels/event/future-materials-roundtable-t urning-waste-wealth-how-materials-engineering-and-green-chemistry-371236 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
